1966 was also a busy year for the association as the PMA, in tandem with the Philippine Council of Management, organized the First National Marketing Conference with the theme “Effective Marketing: Key to Economic Development.” This was followed two years after the Second National Marketing Conference which carried the theme “Greater Productivity with Efficient Marketing” co-sponsored by the Philippine Chamber of Industry.

Another first was the publication of “Marketing Age” in 1966, a weekly column in the Manila Daily Bulletin which tackled among other things, marketing functions, trends and problems, as well as the first printed annual report. As part of its commitment to the academe in promoting sound marketing education, the association conducted a series of seminars and workshops for both members and non-members, and launched a Speakers’ Bureau to mount a marketing information campaign on campuses and in offices.
