The Philippine Marketing Association’s partnership with the Taiwan International Trade Administration via Go Green with Taiwan has been fundamental to once again inspire Filipinos to develop innovative solutions on environmental and economic sustainability using Taiwanese products. It was in 2022 when the entry of a group of Filipino teachers earned them the grand prize for their Mobile Classroom concept that enabled Taiwan to create mobile classrooms in various remote areas in the country. Each mobile classroom is designed to be equipped with solar panels and learning tools such as computers and educational materials for both students and teachers. Their idea not only centered on the use of sustainable solutions but addressed the country’s challenge on the provision of academic facilities by establishing a more accessible learning environment for the children.
This 2024, as the PMA community aspires for another home-grown winning innovation, it extended the invitation for submission of entries to students as well as school-based marketing associations. As we strive to strengthen the force of saving and protecting our planet, the campaign communicated a far bigger message – it’s a movement bringing together responsible stewards who make that bold step to make one greener world where it’s safe, clean and sustainable. “It (Go Green with Taiwan) is not an ordinary competition, but an action plan to rally and create collaboration (on) to foster a better future together,” stressed by TAITRA Manila Director Alex Lai during the Media Launch at the Ateneo de Manila University on July 10, 2024.
Environmental sustainability ideas on: (1) Energy & Storage, (2) Energy Saving, (3) Low-Carbon Transportation, (4) Green Materials, (5) Environmental Equipment, and (6) Circular Economy are some of the anticipated entries to be garnered from the participants until August 15, 2024. Gift certificates worth P5,000 shall be awarded to the first 30 qualified entries from PMA. Six (6) finalists shall be chosen from the global entries to present in Taiwan and at the same time receive support from various Taiwanese enterprises. The Top 3 proposals will each take home the grand prize of USD 20,000 or over PhP1,000,000.
