After welcoming the newly inducted Board of Directors in January, it was “back to regular programming” for PMA’s 2nd General Membership Meeting held at the Winford Hotel.
A LIST OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The afternoon kicked off with the President’s Message by Sy Bryan Lato, CPM Asia, who shared a string of accomplishments so far – Council Meeting with 18 past presidents, MOA with BNI Phils., PMA mentors at Go Negosyo 3M on Wheels, Rex Smith concert, TikTok collaboration, the launch of Kapatid Angat Lahat Agri Program (KALAP) at Malacanang, meeting with Josiah Go on mentoring 25 professors, staging of Juan Big Idea by the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA), etc. He also invited the members to join the National Marketing Conference on July 26-27 and nominate for the 42nd Agora Awards on September 29, 2023.
The event proper, billed as “MarTech: Navigating New Marketing Technology,” had five distinguished professionals sharing their take on the topic.
FIVE SPEAKERS FOR METAVERSE
First to take on the stage was Jojo Ajero, Marketing Intelligence Director of Tangere Research and Acquisition Apps Inc. who revealed how data and tools can be used to do predictive modeling and out-position competition.
Immediately following him was Ronald Andrew Cruz, Senior Digital Marketing Lead and Strategist of Dice205 Digital Corporation who shared a beginner’s guide to search engine optimization (SEO).
The three panelists then took the stage starting with Mr. Zine Nedil, the General Manager of Atome Philippines who discussed how ‘buy now, pay later (BNPL)’ works and its strengths.
Immediately after, Gregorio Gabriel of TikTok Shop Philippines introduced shoppertainment and how it brings entertainment into commerce to influence a purchase decision.
Last but not least was Coach Epok Quimpo, CEO of Smart Sports, who enlightened the members on how brand goals can be achieved through consistent sports marketing, a growing category composed of PC and mobile games.
The three last speakers were then invited to a panel discussion moderated by former PMA President Yayu Javier. Next came the introduction of the new committee chairs — Jojo Ajero, Marco Antonio Montes, Amrei Dizon, Jaana Loreen Abrogena, and Leah Marie Ayeng.
BAND LIVENS UP EVENT
While being served heavy snacks, the members were treated to a live band singing nostalgic songs from the 80s and 90s. This made some members dance on their seats and even on the dance floor.
The event ended on a happy and lively note while bringing with them a bucketful of new learning and insights. See you all in the next GMM!
